AI agents that reason, decide and act within your rules
Generative AI agents embedded in business processes to automate tasks, support decisions and boost operational efficiency. They interpret goals, plan steps and carry out authorised actions, recording every decision.
From an assistant that suggests to an agent that resolves
Conventional assistant
- Answers questions
- Suggests the next step
- Relies on someone to execute
- Not connected to your systems
iAxion SmartAgent
- Queries systems and applies the rules
- Carries out the authorised action
- Logs, notifies and escalates exceptions
- Uses the context of the process
An assistant tells you what to do. A SmartAgent checks the ERP, applies the rule, updates the record and tells whoever needs to know.
Supplier invoice matching
Goal
Reduce matching time and prevent duplicate payments.1Analysis
Reads the invoice received by email, extracts the data and compares it with the purchase order and goods receipt.
2Execution
Posts the invoice to the ERP when everything matches, flags discrepancies and drafts the query to the supplier.
3Governance
Amounts above the limit go to human approval. Every decision is recorded for audit.
Anatomy of a SmartAgent
Goal and reasoning
Receives a goal, plans the steps and decides on the action using language models.
System connectivity
Connects to ERP, CRM, databases, email and any service with an API.
Memory and context
Keeps the session history and long-term knowledge of the process.
Role and personality
Tone, role and behaviour defined for each use case.
Rules and limits
Defines what the agent may decide alone and what requires validation.
Decision log
Every action is recorded for review, audit and continuous improvement.
The right level of autonomy for each process
We start with close supervision and increase autonomy as trust is earned.
Suggests
The agent analyses and prepares; a person decides and executes.
Acts with approval
The agent executes after human validation.
Acts within limits
Autonomy within defined rules and amounts, with exceptions escalated.
Agents for every business area
Customer service
Analyses requests, checks policies and performs standard actions; routes exceptions to the team.
Finance
Invoice matching, reconciliations and detection of discrepancies between orders, invoices and entries.
Human resources
Administrative screening against objective criteria, interview scheduling and recruitment pipeline updates.
Legal and compliance
Review of recurring documents and clauses, highlighting exceptions for expert review.
Sales
Lead qualification, CRM updates and preparation of proposals and next steps.
Operations and logistics
Delivery monitoring, status updates and alerts for delays or deviations.
Connected to the systems you already use
SmartAgents run on iAxion Hub or in your own cloud (for example Amazon Bedrock AgentCore or Microsoft Azure), with observability, identity management and security policies.

PDFFrequently asked questions
Do agents make decisions without supervision?
Only within the limits you set. Critical actions, or those above certain amounts, always require human approval.
Which systems can they use?
Any system with an API or connector: ERP, CRM, Microsoft 365, databases, portals and email. We also support MCP.
What if the agent gets it wrong?
Rules are checked before every action, decisions are logged and, wherever the system allows, actions can be reversed.
How are results measured?
We define metrics before the pilot: cycle time, volume handled, exception rate and errors avoided.
Do we need iAxion Hub?
It is recommended, as it centralises governance, models and costs, but agents can also run in your own cloud.
Which process would you hand over to an agent?
We run the assessment and identify the use cases with the highest return.
